Located about a 1/2 hour north of Grand Rapids, the Muskegon was one of the favored logging rivers during the boom years of the 1880's-1890's, and a keen eye can still pick out remnants of stray logs left over from spring logging runs which embedded on the river bottom. There is abundant wildlife, including otters, waterfowl, deer and eagles and, although development has been creeping in, the upper reaches are still fairly remote and natural with much of the surrounding land composed of state owned tracts. In recent years, the river has gained a certain measure of fame as a recreational fishery, boasting large migratory steelhead, King salmon and Brown Trout.
The Muskegon River tailwater has been described as a giant spring creek with its gin clear water and constant flow. Huge gravel bars, deep pools and long eddies are home to countless resident rainbow and brown trout in the 12" to 20" size, with enough fish in the 20"+ range to keep you on your toes. Whether your interested in Trout, Walleye, Smallmouth, Salmon, Steelhead fishing or just simply a relaxing day on the water, the Muskegon is second to none! At Tracy's Custom Riverboats we offer a year-round guide service to accommodate your needs and make your dreams come true. Please allow one of our experienced guides to help you and your family build memories that will last a lifetime!
All gear, tackle and transportation will be provided. Here at Tracy's Custom Riverboats guide Service we offer fishing trips for Steelhead, Salmon, Rainbow and Brown Trout, Walleye and Smallmouth Bass.
There are two different styles of riverboats that we offer for your day on the water. The first is a McKenzie style driftboat. This is a peaceful, safe and comfortable way to enjoy your day on the river. Driftboats are a great way to navigate, explore and fish areas that can't be reached by conventional motorboats. The second is by a custom jet sled. Allow our skilled guides to navigate you to places that most fishermen only dream of. Spending a day fishing on in of our custom jetboats allows your captain to not only find more fish but also get you away from the crowds often found during the busy season.
You'll want to come prepared with waders, polarized sunglasses, rain coat, camera, binoculars, sunscreen, bug repellant, hat and gloves. Most importantly, dress appropriately for current weather conditions. Although provided, you may also bring your own equipment, favorite fishing pole, lures or gear.
To book a trip please call 1-866-652-5880 or e-mail to see if the date/dates you want are available. A deposit of 1/2 down per boat is required to reserve a trip. Deposits are not refundable unless we cancel your trip due to the weather or some other unseen circumstance, but we would much rather reschedule your trip for another day if possible. If you choose to cancel your trip within one week of the booked date, the entire amount of the trip must be paid for, unless we can find a replacement trip for that day. We look forward to making your next day on the river as enjoyable as possible.
